BoomerangBruce

G'day! Bruce is the best boomerang thrower this side of the Black Stump, and the cockatoos are pinching his snags. Pick where the boomerang turns, pick which way it curls, and make sure it comes back. Then it's off on a world tour, to space, and back in time to the dinosaurs.

200 levels: the Outback, Bruce's World Tour, Bruce in Space, then Bruce's Dino Walkabout. Progress saves on this device, and to the leaderboard when you sign in.

How to play

Bonk every thief and bring the boomerang back safely. You choose its turning point and which way it curls.

1. Aim the loop

  • Phone or tablet: tap or drag on the board to aim. This does not throw the boomerang.
  • Fine-tune: press and hold on the board until the middle of the aiming line lights up, then slide. You can start the hold anywhere on the board.
  • Mouse: move the pointer to aim. The further the turning point is from Bruce, the bigger the loop.

2. Pick the curl and throw

  • Use Curls right / Curls left to reverse the direction around the loop. The aiming preview shows the route.
  • On a phone or tablet, tap THROW. With a mouse, click the board or use the THROW button.
  • Keyboard: arrow keys or WASD aim; hold Shift for smaller steps. C changes the curl, Space or Enter throws, R restarts and Escape goes back.

Keep it coming back

  • Hit every thief, then catch the boomerang. A hit only wins the level if the boomerang returns safely.
  • A wall, bush, washing line or board edge ends the attempt. Breaking glass or hitting the resting character also ends it.
  • In the Outback, protect Sheila's caravan and Davo in his chair. Other places have different hazards and characters; their introductory tips explain them.
  • Blue-ring thieves only count on the return half of the loop. In the Dino world, red-ring thieves only count on the way out, before the boomerang turns round. Flying thieves and moving obstacles make the timing matter.

Stars, par and hints

Par is the target number of throws: clear in par or fewer for 3 stars, par + 1 for 2 stars, or par + 2 for 1 star. The boomerang icons show your throws left. Run out before clearing the board and you must retry.

After three failed attempts on a campaign level, a Hint button appears. Using it restarts that level if you have already thrown, then marks a solution's aim and curl. For moving targets, wait for NOW!. Hints can guide the next throw in the solution too. Daily challenges have no hints.

Four worlds · 200 levels

Start with 50 Outback levels. Clear 15 to unlock Bruce's World Tour: 10 levels each in London, Paris, Cairo, Kyoto and New York. Clear 15 World Tour levels to unlock Bruce in Space: Woomera, the Space Station, the Moon, Mars and Planet Zog. Clear 15 Space levels to unlock Bruce's Dino Walkabout: the Fern Jungle, the Tar Pits, the Volcano, the Ice Age and the Dino Nest.

Levels open in order within each world. Replay a cleared level to improve its stars; your best result is kept.

Daily challenge

Everyone gets the same level, somewhere different each day, changing at midnight UK time. You can try any daily destination without unlocking its campaign world.

Your first successful clear is the result that counts. The daily board ranks fewest throws first, then fewest attempts. An attempt begins with its first throw, including after a restart. Play again is for fun and does not replace your recorded result.

Progress, help and offline play

Progress saves in this browser. Sign in with Google to sync campaign stars and join the leaderboards. A daily result cleared while signed out is kept on this device and can be posted if you sign in that same day.

The ? button opens this guide during a level and pauses the board while you read. Close it to continue. Restart resets the current attempt; it keeps previously earned stars.

Once the game has loaded online, its cached campaign levels can be played offline. The daily challenge, sign-in and leaderboards need a connection.
